Dr. Tanner is a native of Clinton, Mississippi. After completing her undergraduate training at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, she received her medical degree from the University of Missisippi Medical Center. She also completed her internship and residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Mississippi, where she served as Chief Administrative Resident. She is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Mississippi State Medical Association. She and her husband, Carlos Tanner, reside in the Jackson area and have one child.
